About Madeline
You may have noticed the botanical theme to my practice website. The eucalyptus plant inspired my logo along with my love of plants in general. When I’m not in the office, you will likely find me in the garden at home or tending to my many houseplants. I find that taking care of plants helps me slow down and be more mindful. Gardening offers many therapeutic benefits that can help us all take a breath in the overstimulating, often traumatizing world we live in. My cat Buster (see below) also may make an appearance during Telehealth sessions.
Professional Background
Wake Forest University ‘14 - BA of Sociology
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work ‘17 -Master’s of Social Work
I have 9 years of experience working with teens and kids, starting in 2017 as an Intensive In Home Therapist as well as the school setting within Durham Public Schools. My approach on providing therapy to teens is to have a team-like strategy that includes coordination with parents/family, my client and school supports. I focus on strengths always with my clients and help them establish goals they want to work towards.
